Course Structure & Assessment

The course structure will be consistent in its approach with a series of workshops, learning and skill development activities and assessments that may include both on and off-the-job tasks, research, individual and group work and facilitated sessions. Assessment will be based on a range of tasks which may form a portfolio of evidence for each unit. The overall learning for each individual will be outlined within a specific Individual Training Plan that will include acknowledgement of industry experience, pathway pre-requisites, recognition of current competencies and prior learning.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) recognises any prior knowledge and experience and measures it against the qualification and in this instance you may not need to complete all of the units of competency. Completion of this qualification will require you to successfully complete a range of assessment tasks that align to each unit of competency that meet the requirements of the Australian Qualifications Training Framework (AQTF).

Australian Qualification Framework: Level 3

Breadth, depth and complexity of knowledge and competencies would cover selecting, adapting and transferring skills and knowledge to new environments and providing technical advice and some leadership in resolution of specified problems.

This would be applied across a range of roles in a variety of contexts with some complexity in the extent and choice of options available. Performance of a defined range of skilled operations, usually within a range of broader related activities involving known routines, methods and procedures, where some discretion and judgement is required in the section of equipment, services or contingency measures and within known time constraints. Applications may involve some responsibility for others. Participation in teams including group or team coordination may be involved.
